5 Million PTA Members Celebrate Washington State’s World Changers

One Voice

Look around. Our world is growing more and more diverse. Are we ready? Are our schools, cities, businesses, and government ready?

Well, I live in the great state of Washington where there are many passionate people who are serving their broader community by engaging diverse communities – CHANGING THE WORLD! I love meeting them, interviewing them, then telling the world about them through my Diverse Community Connectors blog.

Recently, the National Parent Teacher Association invited me to write a blog focusing on diversity and inclusion. Of course, I highlighted some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest. Would you please take a moment to celebrate them again?

Their dedication, commitment and action on behalf of their diverse community will not only impress you, but impress upon you it is best to accomplish your life’s passion by serving your Beloved. Both KCLS and Jo are service-focused.

Accomplish Your Dream and Meet Big Needs

Is there a driving passion in you to do something special? Do you have a Big Dream that hasn’t come true yet? Or are you doing your dream? No matter where you are in your journey, discovering your passion and following your dream may not be easy, but it is the only way to truly live.

Sharonne Navas knows this. She has experienced profound personal transformation from the inside out as a result of following and living her dream.

Kiwanis Gets It

Have you ever learned something new that effected you so deeply that you couldn’t forget it? In fact, the more you tried, the deeper it imbedded itself into your psyche until it became the basis of a major change in you? The Seattle Kiwanis Club recently inspired this type of disruption in me.

1 Process 7 Steps To Live Your Dream

1 Process 7 Steps

In his book Put Your Dream to the Test, John C. Maxwell says,

A dream is an aspiring picture of the future that energizes your mind, will and emotions, empowering you to do everything you can to achieve it.”

Diverse Community Connectors  (DCC) exists to inspire you to keep pursuing your dreams by introducing you to passionate leaders in Washington State who work hard to harness the power of diversity and change the world!

As DCC has chronicled the journeys of these world changers, we’ve noticed some common principles that are present in each of their motivating stories. Based on our observations, we have created a process that we hope resonates with you, and helps you in your mission to change the world.

Thousands Now Can Navigate Their Children’s School Who Never Thought They Could

Have you ever been so impressed by the phenomenal work someone was doing that you had to ask about it? And when you did, the answer you got was, “It’s God!”

Margarita Leas and Marisol Visser are the Co-Founders of Issaquah’s first Hispanic Community Magazine, VOZ DE LA COMUNIDAD. Their amazing journeys from Colombia and Mexico to Issaquah, from speaking no English to translating for their children’s schools, from having a service-inspired idea to creating a publication that will be distributed to families in all of Issaquah’s Primary and Secondary schools, will give you energy to keep charging ahead in your own life work!
